“Back in my day… ten miles to school… uphill both ways…”
Tobias had heard his Grandpa ranting like this many times before. He used to think Grandpa was being facetious, but it was obvious he really meant it.
So, Tobias googled and GPS’d his way to the small country town his Grandpa had grown up in. He followed the exact same path from his Grandpa’s house to where the old school had been.
And his Grandpa was right: walking to school or home, it was uphill either way. Had to be some kind of geological anomaly.
Before he could investigate more, a black SUV pulled up, and two men in black suits approached.
